Frequently asked questions

Which regions do you operate in?
We mainly operate in Kurzeme and Zemgale, but we also consider offers from other regions of Latvia. Contact us to find out whether we can help in your case.
Is the forest valuation free of charge?
Yes, the valuation of a forest or felling site is completely free and commits you to nothing. Our specialist visits the site and provides an offer with no obligation.
How long does it take to complete a transaction?
Typically 1–3 weeks pass from the first contact to closing the deal. Valuation is carried out within 1–2 working days of receiving the application.
Do you also buy small felling sites or small forest properties?
Yes, we consider all offers regardless of size. Submit an application and our specialist will assess your situation individually.
How is payment made for a forest or felling site?
Payment is made by bank transfer immediately after the transaction documents are signed. We do not use deferred payments — we pay the full amount on the day of the transaction.
Do I need a valid forest inventory (survey) to sell my forest?
No, it is not mandatory. While a valid inventory makes the valuation process easier, we can also buy your forest without one. Our own foresters and forestry specialists will assess the property and gather all the necessary data themselves.
Do you only buy mature forests, or also young stands and clearings?
We buy absolutely every type of forest property! We are interested in valuable, mature spruce, pine or birch forests, as well as young stands, clearings, overgrown farmland and scrubland. As long-term forest managers, we have the resources to invest in tidying up properties and growing new forest.
My forest property has encumbrances (nature reserves, a loan or tax debts). Can you still buy it?
Yes, we consider such properties too. If the property carries a bank mortgage or debts, during the purchase we can work with the bank and settle those obligations out of the purchase price, paying you the balance. We also assess properties with nature-related encumbrances (micro-reserves) and offer a fair price that accounts for the existing restrictions.
Can I sell the forest if it is jointly owned and I only want to sell my share?
Yes, this is possible. If you own an undivided share of a forest property and wish to sell it, the other co-owners have a statutory right of first refusal. We will help you correctly prepare the offer to the other co-owners and handle all the legal details if they waive that right and you sell your share to us.
How long does it take from our first conversation to receiving the money?
If the property documentation is in order and the price suits both parties, we can carry out the valuation and prepare the contract within a couple of days. The only slight delay is the statutory municipal pre-emption procedure (the municipality has up to 20 days to decline the purchase). On average, the full cycle from the "handshake" to money in your account takes 2 to 4 weeks — and we make sure it happens as fast as possible!
